Belief

All persons who have faith in their own self must be called believers. They cannot be called non-believers. The divine Atma is shining in everybody as a self-effulgent flame in the form of prajnana. ‘Prajnana Brahma’ or The Self is identical with Brahman. Brahman is present in everyone in the form of Prajna or divine wisdom. (SSB 1974, p.290)

Believe that God resides in all beings; speak such words as would spread goodness, truth and beauty; do such acts as would promote the happiness and prosperity of all; pray that all worlds have Peace. Expand yourselves; do not contract into your own tiny individuality. Expand into Universal Love, unshaken equanimity and ever virtue. That is the Path which will bring out the Divinity in you to the fullest. (SSS Vol.8, p. 205)

Belief in the Creator, the Designer, the Supporter and Dis-integrator is necessary equipment for the pilgrim on earth. Fear of sin, love of God – these two endow man with peace and joy, save him from sorrow and grant him ananda. (SSS Vol.7, p. 401)

The three basic beliefs of Sanathana Dharma are (i) the inevitability of Karma in life (ii) the fact of rebirth and (iii) Divine incarnations. If one has no faith in all these three he cannot claim to be a Hindu; whoever believes in them can be reckoned as a Bharatiyas, Child of Bharat. (SSS Vol.5, p. 103)

Believe that Sai Baba is in your heart, as your Atma, unshakeable, full of Love. (SSS Vol.7, p. 292)

Believe that Love is God, Truth is God. Love is Truth, Truth is Love; for it is only when you love that you have no fear, and fear is the mother of falsehood. If you have no fear, you will adhere to truth. (SSS Vol.1, p. 68)

Belief in providence is native to an Indian and fear of sin is inherent in him. Nourish your aged parents; revere them. If you honour your mother, the Mother of the universe will guard you against harm. If you honour your father, the Father of all beings, will guard you. This is as true as the fact that if you honour your parents, your children will honour you. (SSS Vol.4, p. 71)

Believe in yourself first, then believe in the Lord (Paramatma). When you have faith in these two, neither the good nor the bad will affect you. (SV90, p. 311)

Do not give ear to what others say. Believe your experience. Whatever gives you peace and joy that is the real basis for faith. (SSE, p. 155)
