With reverential, grateful and prayerful salutations at the LOTUS FEET of the DIVINE MOTHER, FATHER, MASTER (and Love), Bhagavan, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, i make this offering of Digest 3 which is a continuation of the earlier publications ‘Digest’ 1 and 2 (collection of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s sayings) published in 1985 and 1994 by Fondazione Sathya Sai Seva 6535 Roveredo GR CH (Switzerland) and Antonio and Sylvia Craxi are President and Vice President of the Foundation.
This third volume is in the same format as the earlier volumes. This includes Bhagavan’s quotations, sayings, messages, and expositions on various subjects, extensively and exhaustively culled and collected from 75 publications e.g. shad darshanas, clarifications given by Baba for the doubts and questions raised by the delegates to the second world youth conference held in Prasanthi Nilayam, Buddha’s Teachings, Swami’s School days etc.
Care has been taken not to repeat what has been printed in Digest 1 and 2. However if there is any repetition in this volume under different captions it is done with a view to emphasise and elucidate the subject as spoken by Bhagavan in different contexts.
The publications recently released have given English spelling of Sanskrit words, and some effort has been made to include along with these new spellings old usage like Atma/Athma/Aathma.
Bhagavan has said” My Mission has reached that point in time where each one of you has work to do. This planet has a purpose in the great galaxy in which it is held.
This part of My mission is performed in absolute silence. You are My instruments from whom My love will pour. Each of you has unique and valuable part to play in this life time. Only those whom I have called can serve Me.”
On another occasion Bhagavan stated that “Once upon a time, this Puttaparthi was a small hamlet with a population of barely 100 people. In such a small village as this, who would expect a University, an Airport, Super Specialities Hospital and a Railway Station to come up in such a short time? All these things are happening during the life time of the Avatar; which is unprecedented in the history of mankind. During the time of no other Avatar were such stupendous tasks achieved in such a short period of time. Many more wonderful things are going to happen. Today you are able to see Me from close quarters. But after some time, you may have to see Me from a distance of a few miles.
So, make the best use of the divine proximity of Sai. Once you lose this precious chance to serve the Lotus Feet, you will never regain it. Sai confers devotion, power and ultimately liberation on you. Never get misguided by words of others. Keep this in mind and redeem yourself.”
Words are inadequate to express the gratitude to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s grace! in making tumulurus His instruments in His Divine Mission. As submitted in earlier Samarpanams i pray to Him for continuous flow of His Love so that we continually love Him, offer squirrel’s service and worship HIS LOTUS FEET ever and be loved and blessed by BABA.
Oh! My fellow seekers of the Divine and pilgrims in the progress of spirituality; awake, arise and stop not till the goal is reached, and let not opportunity be missed to listen, ruminate, meditate and digest His Message and put in practice and serve and worship the Yuga Avatar.

FOREWORD TO ‘DIGEST 3’
In my Foreword to the Second Volume of “Digest” I wrote:
“Bhagavan Baba’s writings, discourses and sayings are a perennial and inexhaustible source of inspiration, illumination and guidance for spiritual aspirants everywhere. Apart from the published volumes of Swami’s writings and speeches which run into more than twenty volumes, Swami’s sayings in different contexts are to be found in a number of books on Bhagavan’s life and message.
Although a few books have been published giving selected passages from Swami’s sayings as a kind of manual for the use of devotees and others interested in Bhagavan’s message, there has been no comprehensive publication serving as a ready reference book on Bhagavan’s sayings in relation to different subjects. The present book by Sri Tumuluru Krishna Murty seeks to fill this need. , It is a great labour of love and devotion.
Bhagavan’s sayings on every conceivable subject have been collected from as many as 65 publications and have been presented in alphabetical order for easy and ready reference. The value of the book as a reference work is enhanced by the inclusion at the end of every item, of the source from which the quotation has been taken. This will help the earnest reader to go to the source book for fuller information regarding the subject concerned and for understanding the context in which the saying was given. The book will be an invaluable source of reference for all serious seekers and students of Bhagavan’s teachings”.
I am happy to note that my good friend Sri Tumuluru Krishna Murty, has not been content to rest on his oars after taking his boat on the Ganges from “Haridwar to Kasi”. The mighty river of Bhagavan’s sayings flows perennially giving substance to millions of spiritual aspirants. The river swells as it flows and brings with it many things that are new. Hence, the justification for a companion volume to the first volume of “Digest”. One can see from the numerous entries in this second volume what valuable truths and insights have come from the inexhaustible reservoir of Bhagavan to enlighten and inspire devotees and seekers.
Sri Krishna Murty has covered several new sources and given fairly elaborate quotations to bring out the full meaning and purpose of Bhagavan’s sayings on specific subjects. All earnest students of Bhagavan Baba’s teachings will be immensely grateful to the compiler for this great work of loving service to Bhagavan”.
Since writing my foreward for Volume 2 of “Digest” in 1994, Shri. Tumuluru Krishna Murty has kept pace with the flow of time and has now come out with his third Volume, which brings the ever-growing flood of gems and pearls at Bhagavan Baba’s teachings up-to-date.
The present Volume, as Shri Tumuluru Krishna Murty’s “Samarpanam” itself points out, covers materials from the more recent publications and discourses of Swami in the period from 1994 to 1999 (75 books) and other new material. Even under the existing headings, new matter is added in view of the context and situations under which Swami has elaborated his teachings.
This volume is bound to prove a valuable addition to the earlier two and together will represent a fairly complete reference directory of Swami’s teachings and I am sure, this will serve as a source book for those seeking in-depth understanding of the expressions of Bhagavan on all aspects.
