Every man must cultivate good thoughts. When noble feelings and virtues like truth, love, tolerance, peace, and sympathy are developed in our heart, life becomes a veritable garden of beauty. But when evil thoughts, tendencies, and actions are encouraged, the heart fills with impurities and life becomes a river of foul-smelling dirt. This river is Vaitarni. Everybody must question themselves, ‘Is my life like a garden of beauty, or is it like the Vaitarni River?’ (LA, p. 124)
