The ideal for women is the status of Sathi, the faithful wife, the loving mother. The Dharma is very laudable. The Indian ideal of marriage is that the right half is the husband and the left half of the same body is the wife; Pati and Sathi are complementary, parts of the same unit. (SSS Vol.5, p. 196)
