Krishnarpanam

Dedication to God. (Glossary for the Vahinis)

Once some people went to the hermitage of Sage Vyasa and requested him to tell them the means by which they can cross the river Yamuna, Vyasa then asked them to bring some milk and fruits, which they did. Vyasa partook them happily. He then told them, ‘Had I undertaken a sincere fast till now, the river Yamuna will show you the way by which you can cross it.’ The strangers then lamented, ‘we have seen with our own eyes your partaking of the milk and fruits brought by us. We have no hope of crossing the river.’ Vyasa then explained , ‘I did not partake those items. I offered them to Lord Krishna (Krishnarpitam). I am not this body (deha); I am dehi (Atma). This body (deha) is my ‘geha’ (dwelling). Sin he possessed such deep Atmic consciousness, he could confidently declare that he did not partake the milk and fruits brought by those people.
