Householders who carry out their duties are any way preferable to Sadhus; they follow theirAshrama dharma and they tread the correct path in unceasing remembrance of the Lord and so these householders realise the goal. (GV, p. 94)

‘Consider the life of a householder, with wife and children as a training ground for spiritual life. You wear glasses to correct the vision, to improve the sight. Use the opportunities confronting you for developing detachment and self-sacrifice. If you do not, you are the fool who puts on wrong glasses and spoils the vision.’ (Div, p. 108)
