Dwell

A garland of flowers is made up of two things; flowers that were buds yesterday, that blossomed today, and will fade before morn; and the thread that was, is and will be. The flower isAnitya, uneternal, evanescent; it represents the Jiva, that is subject to birth, growth and decay; the thread is Nitya, it is Brahman, on which all Jivas are strung -‘sutre mani gana iva’.

mattah parataram nanyat

kincid asti dhananjaya

mayi sarvam idam protam

sutre mani-gana iva

(Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7:7)

The Jivas, like these flowers, are of different characteristics and natures, and vasanas, but the string is one Uniform Consistent Base, the BrahmanSutra, that binds all together, in one common Creation. Dwell upon that unity for some time at least, every day, and that will save

you from all types of ashanti.(TRT, p. 153)

If the eye does not help you to visualise God in everything it sees, it is far better to be blind. If your ears drag into filthy cacophony it is far better to be deaf. The senses should not be encouraged to plunge you into sensual muck. They must serve your real interests and sublimate your appetites. They must help you to dwell on God. (SSS Vol.20, p. 106)
