Human nature has to be chastened, controlled and guided along certain channels; otherwise, like the flood Ganga, it will bring disaster to millions who rest in security, believing it to be harmless.The haste to secure an immediate advantage has to be cured, the later advantage may be more lasting and more healthy; benefits to the individual have to be given up in favour of benefits to the group, the village, the community, the country or the whole of mankind.(SSS Vol.2, p. 230)

If you do good, you get good from those around you and from the universal entity, God. If you do bad, you get bad. Divinity but resoundre-acts! God has no favourites, no prejudice A bullock that does not yield to the yoke, a horse that resists the reins, a car without brakes and a person who knows no self-control, are heading towards disaster!(SSS Vol.7, p. 336)

A bullock which cannot be brought under control, a horse without reins, a car without brakes, a person without sense control, are all dangerous and heading for disaster. ‘Therefore, Arjuna,’ Krishna said, ‘Control your senses and your mind, and recognize the defects that are inherent in all the objects of the world. Then you can live happily anywhere.’(DBG, p. 133)
